From TV journalist, to publicity queen…

With over 15 years media experience in both Australia and New Zealand there isn’t a TV newsroom on either side of the tasman Tess hasn’t worked in.

Tess started her career as a reporter for Breakfast and One News at TVNZ, before moving to Sydney where she spent a decade working for Network Ten and Channel Nine, before heading up NBC Universal's E! Channel in Australia and New Zealand serving as executive producer. She launched The Hype which covered red carpet events and celebrity interviews from New York Fashion Week to the hustle and bustle of awards season in Los Angeles.

Tess’s journalism career was peppered with extensive public relations experience, working on large scale events from The Logie Awards, AACTA’s, Oprah in Sydney, Oz Comic Con and managing countless red carpets and media junkets for big blockbuster film premieres. She also worked as part of Hugh Jackman’s Australian PR team and has managed press tours for William Shatner and Richard Dean Anderson (AKA Macguyver).

Since returning to Auckland, Tess has been reporting in the Newshub newsroom and managing the publicity for Auckland Arts Festival while accumulating an ever growing number of personal PR clients, from which POP Publicity was born.

Tess brings her wealth of television experience and news nose to the forefront of all she does with her clients, finding angles like only a journalist can. She has an incredible knack to sniff out a good story and tart it up into the kind of headline you want to be making.
